Mirtha Vasquezformer president of Minister councilcommented on the conflict between the Executive and the Congress of the Republic. In this regard, it indicated that both branches of the State are “acting in harmony and complicity” against Peruvian society.
“It is not a permanent fight, but an apparent fight (between the Legislative and the Executive) because what we have here are two powers that are acting in accordance, who are acting —I would say— in complicity against the society of this country”, he commented in dialogue with Canal N.
“Like any citizen, we are tired of seeing shows or political maneuvers in order to generate this kind of circus in which both powers are apparently trying to eliminate each other, but deep down they are acting in the same direction”, he added.
The ex-owner of the PCM maintained that the only thing that the Congress and the Executive is to generate “this kind of shows”. Along these lines, he assured that they are not confronting each other, but are “simple threats”.
“How good it would be if they eliminated each other, politically speaking”, he stated.
at another time, Mirtha Vasquez held that the “Population is orphaned by authorities” and that there is “a serious situation of ungovernability.”
“The way out of these conflicts depends on their will. They do not want to give in to a way out because their status and positions of power matter more to them than the country. (…). I think the big problem with that is that we are in a serious situation of ungovernability because neither the Executive nor the Legislative are concentrating on taking things in favor of the country, (they think) about how they take away power and how they remain there,” he commented.
In this context, he called on the political organizations to take over of the political crisis.
“Political parties, as institutions, are hiding their heads at the moment. They are letting their benches act in Congress, they are letting the Executive act freely as if it were an autocratic government, which does not have a party behind it. We must make a call to these institutions ”, she pointed out.
