Through a release published this Monday, the entity highlighted that “the infestation rates caused by Aedes Aegypti, the transmitting agent of dengue, continue to be high” and that “it is still not possible to stop the transmission or the increase in the incidence rate of suspected cases.”
According to the data provided, in the current focal treatment cycle, which began on September 5, the largest number of mosquito outbreaks is concentrated in Santiago de Cuba, Havana, Camagüey, Holguín, Matanzas, Villa Clara and Pinar. from the river.
The MINSAP pointed out that the deposits to store water continue to be the places where the largest number of outbreaks are detected (71.5% of the total), and for this reason it called to keep these deposits covered both in homes and in work and student centers. .
“We cannot leave that responsibility alone to the workers of the anti-vector campaign,” he added.
The health authorities also called to follow the protocols established in the face of this epidemic, “to prevent people from getting sick and, if they do, that they be treated as soon as possible.”
