The Ministry of Health (Minsal) reported this day that the Health Alert for Covid-19 is extended until August 31, 2023.
Specifically, the Comptroller General of the Republic accepted the decree sent by the Minsal to argue for the extension of this measure.

As stated Thirdamong the reasons that the Minsal exposed is that the Covid-19 continues to be an international concern, this according to what was indicated in the fourteenth meeting of the Emergency Committee of the International Health Regulations, where it was determined that the pandemic continues constituting a Public Health Emergency, this because it continues to be a dangerous infectious disease.
Another argument put forward by the Minsal indicates that Chile still has challenges to control the spread and effects of SARS-CoV-2, since there is no effective antiviral treatment, so prevention continues to be the most suitable mechanism to counteract it.
They also maintain that, with the arrival of winter, there is the possibility of an increase in respiratory viruses, which could overload the national health system.
To remember that the Covid-19 balance of this day indicated that there are 3,965 new cases and five deaths in the last 24 hours. The positivity at the national level is 12.6% and in the Metropolitan region it is 12.54%.
