Minsal Epidemiological Report reveals that MRI has the highest incidence rate of active covid-19 cases in the country

The Ministry of Health published this day the 157th Epidemiological Report, which revealed that the incidence rate of active cases of covid-19 (contagious per 100,000 inhabitants) in the Metropolitan Region reached 86.5, the highest number nationwide since July 1, 2020, when the figure was 291.5.

In addition, the Metropolitan Region leads in active cases with 7,025, followed by Valparaíso, with 1,083; Maule, with 732; Biobío, with 685; and O’Higgins, with 482.

As for the communes with the most active cases, 12 of them, all in the capital, have more than 100 people capable of infecting. The first place is occupied by Calera de Tango with 182.3, followed by Curacaví (101.6), La Cisterna (101.6), Lo Prado (102.5), Ñuñoa (101.5), Padre Hurtado (215, 7), Peñaflor (101.9), Quinta Normal (132.7), San Joaquín (108.2), San José de Maipo (166.3), San Miguel (127.0) and San Pedro (100.4 ).

On the other hand, seven communes at the regional level with a rate of active cases greater than 200 per 100 thousand people. These are: Tocopilla (331.2), Sierra Gorda (229.1), Cartagena (201.1), Retiro (398.7), Futaleufú (463.3), Chaitén (318.7), Puerto Octay (250 ,2).
