The Ministry of Health (Minsal) announced this day the arrival of the first shipment of bivalent vaccines against Covid-19 to our country. In total, more than 334 doses arrived from the Pfizer-BioNTech laboratory.
It should be noted that Chile is the first country in Latin America to use this type of vaccine, which is characterized by containing the original strain of Sars-COV2 and the omicron variant, to better combat the virus.

The person in charge of giving the news was the Minister of Health, Ximena Aguilera, who also specified that these 334,800 doses will be part of the National Immunization Program (PNI), which will allow people to be inoculated once a year. The vaccination schedule will be announced soon, starting the Opening Phase which begins this October 1.
The head of Health hopes that this measure will be well received by the most vulnerable population, as well as the vaccination process that has been carried out, with the mission of remaining at the top of the countries with the most vaccinated per inhabitant.
Risk population
The population at risk, to whom this vaccine is directed, corresponds to any person over 60 years of age, health officials, people with chronic diseases and obesity. However, it is not ruled out in the future to apply it to the entire population.
