From September 2021 and with an investment of more than $443 million, Panama expects that by 2024 the construction of the new Children’s Hospital will be completed; however, to date this work is only 10.55% complete.
This was indicated by the Minister of Health of Panama, Luis Sucre, when he demanded that the company Acciona Construccion, SA, in charge of the work, speed up the construction work so that the delivery date is not postponed.
According to Sucre, who took a tour of the work, it currently has 2% more since the last inspection carried out. “At the beginning we had delays due to some circumstances, demonstrations by health personnel, however, according to the commitments made, they should be cut back. those times,” he said, assuring that they should be shortening the times and for the month of November and detailed that right now the delay is focused on the fact that they are doing a deep excavation that consists of several meters below sea level that should reach the street level.
Despite the setbacks, the Ministry of Health has made the points clear and demanded that the company look for strategies to speed up the work, so next Monday it must present a document that establishes the parameters to be followed between now and November and also the dates of delivery.
