The Ministry of Health (Minsa), through its Western Panama Regional, reported this Saturday that it has ordered the definitive closure of all activities at the La Chorrera Fair due to non-compliance with Decree 903 of last December, which establishes the measures for the organization of trade fair events.

The Minsa established through the aforementioned decree that dances, discos or cantaderas will not be allowed at the fairs.

The installation of inns for food sales was authorized and to enter the fair events it will be mandatory to present a QR code or vaccination cards with a complete scheme at the entrances.

It should be noted that the entity carried out an investigation, after a video that circulated on social networks on the night of Thursday, February 3 at said fair, since a musical event was held with the typical artist Alejandro Torres, where a large number of of public, despite the fact that the patronage had announced that they were only going to give artistic presentations without dances and with a controlled capacity, but it was not like that.

The La Chorrera fair ended this Sunday, February 6, and its closure has caused annoyance to the merchants, who decided to stand outside the offices of the fair’s Board of Trustees to state that this closure represents economic losses and during this weekend they could recover invested in their sales positions.
