Minsa evaluates whether to authorize the holding of processions during Holy Week

An evaluation of the behavior of the pandemic indicators is being carried out by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) to determine whether or not processions are authorized for Holy Week.

According to the Minsa, these activities are prohibited, but what can be done are the masses and cults corresponding to the sacred dates, with the permitted capacity and with compliance with biosecurity measures.

It should be remembered that Decree 852 of September 29, 2021 established the capacity of 100% for religious ceremonies or cults within churches and temples.

Regarding the behavior of cases by Covid, in its epidemiological report the Minsa highlights that there are 761,004 confirmed accumulated cases, of which 269 are new positive cases. For the last 24, three deaths are reported for a cumulative of 8,153 deaths for a lethality of 1.1%.

There are 750,402 recovered people, of which 374 are newly recovered. 6,182 tests were applied for 4.4% positivity.

Active cases total 2,449, of which 2,322 are in home isolation and 127 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 2,285 at home and 37 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 112 in the ward and 15 in the ICU.
