Minsa clarifies that swab services in public facilities are free

In relation to a video that circulates on social networks, in which money is supposedly requested from users of the public health system for swab services, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) clarified that all the diagnostic tests that are practiced both in The centers, health posts or transitory points enabled in the national territory are free, that is, you should not pay for this service.

The application of swab tests within the public facilities of the Minsa and the Social Security Fund (CSS) is carried out with economic resources from the State, which has been provided by the National Government for the fight against the pandemic in order to reinforce traceability and cut the transmission of the coronavirus in the country.

The Minsa indicated that a pertinent investigation has been initiated, with which it seeks to obtain further facts related to this alleged charge to users of the public health service and to punish the officials allegedly responsible.

It should be noted that, given the growing demand of people, the Minsa has expanded and strengthened swab centers or points throughout the country in order to track positive cases and reduce Covid-19 infections.
