Within the framework of the Housing Emergency Plan promoted by the Government, the Ministry of National Assets transferred to the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism (Minvu) two public lands in the Biobío Region, destined for the construction of almost 450 social housing for families of Concepción and Lebu.
The transfers took place this Tuesday, April 18, in two acts led by the Minister of National Assets, Javiera Toroand its Housing pair, Carlos Montes.
In the case of Concepción, two hectares were transferred to the Serviu del Biobío for the construction of 296 social houses that will benefit the families of the “Patrimonio Familiar Damnificados Hipotecarios” (Copafadhi) committee, which will be divided into 2 stages: the first of 136 solutions housing and the other with the remaining 160.
Of the total of this project, called “Plazas de Andalién”, eight houses will be destined for families with reduced mobility, and the sector will have green areas, community equipment, with good connectivity to transport, services and educational centers.
In the afternoon, both ministers arrived in Lebu, where they finalized the transfer of another public land, now 4.2 hectares, within the urban limit of the commune, located in the Gabriela Mistral street sector (Fundo Victoria). A ceremony where the mayor of said commune was present, Christian Penatogether with regional authorities.
Social housing will be built on said land for 151 families from the “Buscando mi Casa con los Rezagados de Lebu” and “Esperanza Joven” housing committees of said commune, which is characterized by the fact that 76% of its applicants are women.
During the day, Minister Toro recalled that the Government has made “a call to all institutions in the country to collaborate with the task of the PEH, and among them, the first are the public institutions that administer public lands.
“The President in particular has called on all the institutions, we are talking about ministries, also the armed forces and those of order and security. Underutilized or unused land must be made available for this,” he added.
