The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) expressed itself through a note this Friday (27) and clarified that it has been attentive to the national supply of fuel since the beginning of the war between Ukraine and Russia and that the stocks of S10 diesel oil added with the national production guarantee the supply of the national market for 38 days.
“In other words, if imports of this fuel were stopped today, stocks, together with national production, would be enough to supply the country for 38 days. In addition, since the beginning of the Federal Government’s intensified monitoring of supply, the autonomy of diesel oil has increased from 30 to 38 days in terms of import days (increase of 26.7%)”, says the texts.
The note was issued in response to the letter sent by Petrobras last Wednesday that deals with a possible difficulty in supplying diesel in the country.
According to the ministry, “immediate” measures were adopted to intensify the monitoring of the logistics and supply of “oil, natural gas and their derivatives, in the domestic and international markets”.
Also according to the note, the ministry, together with the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) and the Energy Research Company (EPE) created, in March this year, a Sectoral Committee to Monitor the National Fuel Supply. and Biofuels for monitoring the diesel supply situation.
“The Ministry of Mines and Energy remains attentive to the movements of the domestic and international market, maintaining intense and constant monitoring to adopt timely measures together with other government bodies in the spheres of their respective competences, according to the evolution of the scenario”, ends the note.
