Authorities from the Ministry of Education (MEDUCA) filed a criminal complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the payment and collection of salaries issued in favor of deceased persons.
As a result of the internal audits carried out, MEDUCA has so far detected 16 cases of deceased teachers since 2021, to whom payments were issued. The audit continues and other reports of cases that have been found will soon be filed.
MEDUCA has made available to the Public Prosecutor’s Office all the information and documentation related to the improper payment of these salaries, without neglecting the administrative investigation within the institution, which has been carried out for the same purpose.
