The Ministry of Culture awarded the posthumous distinction of Meritorious Personality of Culture to the brothers Santos Dávalos Salazar and Victor Davalos Salazar, members of the Arequipa musical group The Davalos or The Davalos Brothers.
Recognition was through Ministerial Resolution No. 000154-2022-DM/MCin the newspaper El Peruano published today.
According to this document, the Municipality of Alto Selva Alegre requested in 2021 to the Ministry of Culture the declaration as Meritorious Personality of Culture to Los Hermanos Dávalos, in recognition of his musical career.
Victor was the first voice for having a powerful voice and José the second voice. The children of Víctor Dávalos; Antonieta and Leslie also pursued a musical career and today they promote Arequipa music.
