Minister Valderrama guarantees that national products will not be regulated

The Minister of Agricultural Development, Augusto Valderrama, clarified this Wednesday, August 3, that national products will not be regulated in the price control, since he assures that doing this would represent a disincentive for national producers who would stop producing.

He stressed that it will be “a process of buying at market price from national producers and selling these products at state expense as a 25% subsidy for indigenous regions and at fairs and in IMA (Agricultural Marketing Institute) stores. ; which means that no product has been regulated for producers, because we are convinced that any regulation at this time of inflation for national producers could lead them not to produce the product”-

He said that they already have a special commission that is working on the tariff issue and that the idea is to look for special products so that not all products are affected and that the market remains supplied.

Valderrama’s statements were given during the session of the Agricultural Affairs Commission, where he also referred to the payments of national producers and assured that there is also an Executive commission working on these issues so that payments are made as soon as possible, he said. that these payments will be made similar to what is being done with the gas stations so that the producers have their money.

The minister stressed that in order to guarantee the issues agreed upon at the negotiating table, raising taxes has not been considered.

In this first session, the commission endorsed Bill 28, which establishes the National Plan for the reduction of food waste, and also approved the veto report for Bill 207, which establishes the classification of canals and the nomenclature of food courts. cattle meat and No. 734 that establishes measures to encourage the production, processing and development of coffee.
