The Minister of Public Health, Daniel Rivera, confirmed this Thursday that the delta variant circulates in all provinces from the country.
Rivera explained that this covid-19 mutation behaved in a different and less lethal way in the Dominican Republic, compared to other countries.
He recalled that the threat of this type of virus will depend on the progress in the inoculation process and the shielding with all the required doses.

“Today in our country it has just happened that all the provinces have the delta variant and yet, observe that it behaved very well. There was no lethality that exists in other countries,” Rivera declared prior to the delivery of the first version of the award to Sustainability doctor Julio A. Brache Arzeno, at the El Embajador hotel.
Rivera explained that hospitalization for this disease continues its downward trend with 13 percent, that is, 87 percent of the beds are available.
In addition, he added that there are currently 1,700 active cases in the country.
