The Minister of Energy and Mines, Rómulo Mucho, supported the Tía María mining project and questioned the farmers who announced a strike in the Tambo Valley.
Much assured that modern technologies and strict standards are being used to ensure environmental protection.
“There are still those who think about mining from 40 years ago. “Thousands of young people could have jobs if the project was given the green light”he stated.
The farmers maintain their protest posture for October 21, 22 and 23.
“There is concern about the environment, but it all depends on how things are done. The laws exist and continue to be improved for waste management, the circular economy and everything that has the least impact on the person. “In Peru it has been shown that projects that were thought to have a lot of pollution brought a lot of progress,” he gave his opinion on the matter.
