The Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, and the educational community of the Guillermo Endara Galimany School, reached a series of agreements to speed up the repair and maintenance of the educational center.
This Saturday morning, Gorday de Villalobos toured the campus and held a meeting with the parents, after the announcement that they will not send their children to classes this Monday, March 7, due to the poor state of the infrastructure. .
After the meeting, Meduca promised to manage the resources to cover the expenses for load tests in some school buildings and the pathological study, as part of the studies currently carried out by the Technological University of Panama (UTP).
They also agreed to manage the resources to start the work to change the roof in the 5 pavilions of the school in accordance with the study of the structures laboratory.
According to the educational community of the Guillermo Endara Galimany School, the deterioration of the roofs causes leaks that recharge the upper slabs, for which a collapse is feared.
In addition, a proposal for mobile laboratory trolleys will be presented and physics, chemistry and biology resources will be managed. Currently, the Guillermo Galimany School does not have laboratories for science students.
Regarding the general maintenance of the school, it was agreed to follow up on the processing of B/.15,000 for the treatment plant, the maintenance of the water pump rooms will be managed with the Idaan and with the Ministry of Public Works the repair of the internal street.
The educational community reported that it will present a proposal for the start of classes from March 14.
