Minister Montaño denounces vehicle owners who dumped on the streets during the strike

The Minister of Public Works, Édgar Montaño, appeared at the Santa Cruz Departmental Prosecutor’s Office to present two complaints. The first against the owners of dump trucks and heavy machinery with which land was moved to block the Fundamental Road Network. “That caused two deaths, one in Potosí and another here in Santa Cruz,” Montaño said.

“According to the Penal Code, they have to compensate us for the years to do the cleaning and that is quantified in Bs 100,000, only in Santa Cruz “, he affirmed.or Montaño.

Montaño gave a brief press conference at the Prosecutor’s Office before formalizing the complaint. He said that it was his job as Minister of Public Works to take care of the roads, that is why he wants those who caused the damage to these roads to return the money with which his ministry will pay for this operation. “Through the Bolivian Highway Association we are going to spend the money to clean the roads”, Montaño said.The second complaint was for “getting in my way and kidnapping me in the sixth ring and the Spain neighborhood,” Montaño said. “The complaint is against those people who planned this situation and in that sense there is a privative sentence of two to eight years,” argued the minister without citing the name of the accused.
