Minister Jorge Chávez denies congressman for alleged entry of foreign troops into Peru

Last Thursday, January 19, in the middle of the march called “The Taking of Lima”, the congresswoman from Free Peru, Silvana Roblespublished a letter addressed to the president of Parliament, José Williams, in which authorization was requested for the entry of a naval unit with foreign military personnel into Peruvian territory, accusing interventionism and lack of sovereignty of the government of Dina Boluarte.

This news was widely viralized on social networks, where opponents of the government warned of a possible presence of Armed Forces agents from other countries to intervene in the protests that have been taking place against Dina Boluarte. This has been denied by Defense Minister Jorge Chávez Cresta, describing this news as ‘fake news’.

“I would like to present the information of two fake news that are on social networks, the first directed with respect to a legislative resolution in a procedure that is carried out normally in the presence of foreign personnel or foreign demarcations. I refer to the provision and authorization made three months in advance of the entry of the Juan Sebastián Elcano Training Ship, from the city of Madrid to the port of Callao in the period from April 15 to 20 of this year”, indicated the minister.

“These false news have been expressed by a congresswoman of the Republic, analysts and international entities indicating that the entry of foreign troops would be authorized, which I categorically rule out, these are cultural and academic exchange procedures that are carried out between Armies and Navies. of the sister countries of Peru and the world”, he added.

But, the question that many are asking now is what is the reason for this visit by foreign military members to our territory? Here we clarify several points necessary to understand this request and not be alarmed in vain by this supposed foreign intervention in our country.

Through her social networks, Congresswoman Robles revealed the Draft Legislative Resolution accusing that President Boluarte “lives outside of reality”, before the request for the entry of the School Ship into the national territory

This is the entry of the Juan Sebastián Elcano School Ship, which will scale, according to the document attached to the application, in the Port of Callao during its XCV instruction cruise from April 15 to 20 of this year, and will remain for 17 days in our country.
