Minister Izkia Siches shields the Government for questions about the delivery of the new Constitution: “There is no crime or intervention”

Within the framework of the investigation for the alleged crime of embezzlement of public funds and the various requirements filed by the opposition to the Comptroller, the Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches, referred to the role that the Government of President Gabriel Boric has played in the exit plebiscite on September 4.

In this sense, the Secretary of State indicated that the Executive has “complied with the ordinances”, emphasizing that they are available -as a Government- to contribute with any type of investigation.

“Without a doubt, we are always available to be able to deliver the information that is requested by the Public Ministry, any information regarding it,” he said.

“We are calm in this matter, we have complied with all the ordinances and also with what we have committed ourselves to, objectively informing the population with the full text,” he added.

On the other hand, the head of the Interior stressed that the role of the Executive is to “inform, deliver the full text, so that people can participate, and in this reiterate that for us there is no crime, there is no intervention, but rather a active role of the Government, since we are the only entity that is currently contributing to this matter”.

“And we hope that this role is understood and obviously the different actors fulfill within a spirit of dialogue and truthfulness in the current debate,” he added.

Likewise, he reiterated that from La Moneda they are available to provide all the information requested.

“As a government we are extremely available to deliver all the information that concerns us. The entire government is willing to contribute to all the investigative processes that want to be opened, there is no debate, no complications around it,” he concluded.
