“Indeed, after an agreement, what was appropriate, what was announced was the unlocking, but I understand that one guild in particular had the peculiarity that it has many sub-leaders (…) I think that everyone was satisfied with the measures, maybe some want to see things now, ”said the head of the Interior.

The also head of the Public Security portfolio also reaffirmed that, in any case, today’s blockades are much smaller than those that began two days ago, dropping from 20 to about 5 partial roadblocks.

“We believe in the word and we believe that when the word is pledged, it must be fulfilled and we not only began to fulfill it yesterday, that is, the helicopter, the vehicles arrived in the Antofagasta region during the afternoon, in the next few hours. Police officers are arriving, as we have promised,” Delgado added.

He also stated that the so-called “redirection” of migrants has begun to operate today, so, in this sense, he stressed that “we are complying in a timely manner and within the deadlines that we have defined, and we demand the same in the other side”.

“But also just as the Government has to comply, of course those who also sign on the other side have to comply and in that sense a large part of the leaders complied yesterday,” the Government authority highlighted.
Regarding the measures that the Government could take if a total unblocking does not occur, Minister Delgado emphasized that “if the blockades continue, we of course can and have to take other types of measures, we do not want to reach that, but we also we understand and empathize like we did yesterday.”

“If that doesn’t happen, of course we have to take other measures,” Delgado said, noting that “an unlocking that has to be no longer voluntary, but that we have to take certain, other measures to unlock with the public force could be applied. as it matches”.

However, Delgado affirmed that he understands the substantive demands, for which he urged the truckers to “accelerate” the unblocking of the routes.
