The Minister of Finance, José Manuel Restrepo, began a visit to the United States this Thursday in order to socialize the 2022 financial plan, which was presented by the Government about two weeks ago, and where he will also meet with the representatives of various multilateral organizations. The visit began in New York and this Thursday he will be in Washington.

“We wanted to come and tell about the progress that Colombia has made with its financing plan, we are going to have interaction with more than 40 public debt funds from around the world, and we are going to tell them what we have evolved in terms of fiscal deficit and in the reduction of public debt with respect to the Gross Domestic Product of our country”, the minister said.

Restrepo confirmed that he will also hold meetings with organizations of American companies interested in investing in Colombia, and with think tanks. And that tomorrow in Washington he will hold meetings with representatives of the US Treasury Department, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), which are also sources of financing for Colombia.
“The purpose is to tell the progress that Colombia has had in its management of public finances, in the growth of the economy and in the increase in export opportunities and investment opportunities”, He said.
