Havana Cuba. — María Celia Aguilera García, mother of 9/11 protester Luis Armando Cruz Aguileradenounced at noon this Friday that her son, confined in the Combinado del Este, was subjected to new practices that violate universal human rights by soldiers from that most rigorous prison.
According to what the woman said by telephone to CubaNetCruz Aguilera was reportedly taken to the Miguel Enríquez hospital, located on Villanueva and Calzada de Concha, in the Luyanó neighborhood, Diez de Octubre municipality, to be treated for severe ear pain.
Aguilera García also denounced that the military did not allow her to approach the protester or enter the consultation with him. In the same way, he stressed that he had not even been notified of the visit to the health center, but that he had to find out through a relative of another protester, a prisoner of the same prison facility, who notified him by phone.
The mother of the 9/11 protester emphasized that her son was taken handcuffed and chained to his feet and hands with beads, and also criticized the fact that the military parked the truck almost four blocks from the hospital and forced the protester to travel that distance. in that humiliating way, as if he were a dangerous criminal, before the astonished and frightened gaze of the passers-by.
According to her testimony, upon seeing the prisoner, a man who was nearby commented: “When they bring him in like this, he must be a murderer or something,” to which she immediately replied: “My son is not a murderer, my son is a July 11 protester. He is not afraid, he feels free even though he is chained as they lead him”.
Both Luis Armando Cruz Aguilera and his mother, María Celia Aguilera García, have been subjected to constant attacks, harassment and other repressive measures by personnel from the Combinado del Este, the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) and State Security agents, in retaliation for their denunciations, as María Celia Aguilera herself has revealed on previous occasions.
