Colombian striker Miguel Borja undertook a trip to close his incorporation to River Plate on Monday, after negotiations that were extended over time due to various economic factors.
“It has been a difficult job with my representative. I have simply dedicated myself to following the instructions they gave me. The day I had to go to train I went and the day they didn’t give me the authorization, I stayed working with my physical trainer“, Borja said at the airport in Barranquilla, Colombia, before his trip to Bogotá.
“I’m going to one of the best teams on the continent,” added the 29-year-old striker, former Olimpo, from Bahía Blanca.
Borja’s arrival in Buenos Aires will be at the Jorge Newbery airport, at 7:15. Then he will undergo medical studies at a clinic in the Belgrano neighborhood and then sign the contract that will link him to River Plate until December 2025.
Borja, whose pass belonged to Junior and Palmeiras, from Brazil, in equal parts, will reinforce the “millionaire” attack that suffered the loss of Julián Álvarez, who will continue his career at Manchester City, from England. This pass will cost River approximately 7 million dollars.
On the other hand, midfielder Enzo Fernández will travel to Portugal on Monday to join Benfica. The footballer who emerged from the “millionaire” club, who played his last last Wednesday in the knockout round of the Copa Libertadores against Vélez Sarsfield, will depart from the Ezeiza airport at 4:00 p.m.
