The National Migration Service reported that through Resolution No. 12457 of May 5, 2023, those residence permits for foreigners, which expired as of March 13, 2020, will be allowed to be renewed until December 31, 2023.
The extension is for Temporary, Provisional or Permanent Residence Permits and Domestic Workers Visa, whose application period expires on the date described above.
It is important to highlight that renewal applications must be submitted through a legal representative, complying, in addition to the requirements of the Immigration Law, with the payment of the corresponding fines according to each case.
It should be noted that if the applicant is outside the country and wishes to take advantage of said extension of document presentation, he must pay the corresponding fines, before entering the national territory; Therefore, at the time of entering, he must show a copy of the payment receipt.
