Miami: Panel on crimes against humanity in Syria, Ukraine and Cuba held

MIAMI, United States. – Panelists from Cuba, Syria, the United States, Ukraine, Venezuela and Spain participated this Tuesday in a debate on crimes against humanity perpetrated particularly in Syria, Cuba and Ukraine.

The event, which began at 11:00 in the morning of this April 5 at the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora, in Miami, was organized by the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance, the International Commission for Justice Cuba and the Working Group Emergency for Syria.

The panel included former Cuban political prisoner Luis Zúñiga; Mouaz Moustafa and Omar Alshogre, from the Emergency Task Force for Syria; Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat, coordinator of the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance; as well as panelists from the International Commission for Justice Cuba and other organizations. From Cuba, and through a previously recorded video, former political prisoner Ángel Moya also intervened.

“The dictators of our countries are the same: Putin, Castro, Díaz-Canel, Al-Ásad are friends, but we are family and we need to work and fight together for justice and to stop the crimes in our countries”, invited Mouaz Moustafa .

For his part, Gutiérrez-Boronat recalled that “what they call a revolution in Cuba was not a revolution: it did not restore the constitution or hold elections in 18 months,” he said. “His objective, as the murderer Ernesto Guevara explained, was the war against Cuban civil society, to destroy the nation, to destroy our history, our institutions, our economy, our productive base.”

According to the Cuban opponent, one of the most active in South Florida, the regime destroyed the island, which was one of the most prosperous countries in Latin America, “in order to manage it and use it as a platform for international warfare.” of communism.”

“In order to break up our civil society, the regime used and uses massacres, concentration camps, imprisonments, extrajudicial killings, forced exile, and much more: religious persecution and acts of repudiation, all systematically implemented with the help of foreign advisers to destroy to the Cuban nation,” Gutiérrez-Boronat assured.

Likewise, he stressed that “the Cuban people did not accept that calmly” but rather “got up to fight against a black legend whose objective was to destroy our history; and to fight against the complicit work of many in the world, Europe and the United States, who justify the repression in Cuba under false slogans of equality. On July 11 last year we saw thousands of our brothers rise up in Cuba gloriously for freedom”, concluded the leader of the Assembly of the Resistance.

The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance is a coalition of organizations in opposition to the island’s regime. It was founded on March 18, 2009 and is made up of human rights, pro-democracy and pro-freedom groups inside and outside of Cuba.
