Robledo has stressed on several occasions that collaboration with Cuba through the Ministry of Health has been vital since the agreement was signed on July 20.

“In those places before there were no specialties because they were areas of very difficult coverage for internal medicine, pediatrics, cardiology, ENT, trauma, orthopedics, hemophilia, anesthesia, and emergencies, among others,” added the official.

The director of the National Social Security Institute explained that the call for medical contracts is not limited to Cubans, but that there is an international call to which 994 doctors from numerous countries have already responded, including Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador and the United States. Joined.

Last September, 277 Cuban doctors arrived in Mexico as part of the agreement between the AMLO government and the Miguel Díaz-Canel regime to address the deficit of health personnel.

The hiring of Cuban doctors in that country has generated numerous criticisms from medical colleges that consider the initiative an insult to local professionals.
