The bill for the reform of the pension system would reach the Congress of the Republic in March. This was announced yesterday by the head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Álex Contreras, during the presentation of the Con Punche Peru plan for the tourism.
“We have a proposal that we are socializing with the sectors. It has to be a consensual proposal,” he said. contreras and stressed that the pension reform should include measures to increase formalization.
“I hope that in March we can present the proposal,” he added.
In addition, he criticized the initiative that is being debated in Parliament for a seventh withdrawal of the AFPs of up to S/19,800 and described it as “populist” and “a negative measure.”
SUPPORT TO TOURISM
The announcement about the bill came at a conference where Contreras and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), José Luis Helguero, presented the Con Punche Peru plan for the tourism sector.
This will include S/500 million to provide financing to micro and small businesses (mypes) in the sector, repair airports, improve infrastructure for tourism, and cover the refund of VAT to tourists.

-The measures to reactivate tourism seek to reverse the reality that destinations like Cusco are going through, where sales fell 30% in December, according to the MEF.
-One measure adopted is the extension of the rescheduling of FAE Turismo credits until June 30.
