Meduca and independent bands reach agreements for national parades

Through a meeting held between authorities of the Ministry of Education, Members of the National Commission of Patriotic Parades 2022, leaders and representatives of independent bands, some details related to the participation of the delegations in the parades of the month of November were refined.

In this approach, it was specified that the national parade on November 3 will be from 9 in the morning until 6 in the afternoon, with the participation of approximately 29 educational centers and 12 independent bands on both routes.

While for November 4, 32 schools and 18 independent bands are expected to march from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The Minister of Education Maruja Gorday de Villalobos pointed out that “we have been able to reach a consensus of participation in terms of the number of delegates and, definitely, we want to rescue what is experienced with the independent gangs, in an environment of order, participation and , above all, to recognize that love for the country”.

For his part, Isaías Barahona, president of the Panamanian Federation of Independent Bands, thanked the “good disposition of the Minister of Education for this gesture, since the trajectory we have as an independent band is born here in Panama and is a culture, which has been It has been expanding in Central America and the United States, they have copied this and, at a cultural level, that gives us coverage.”

The parades on November 3 and 4 will take place in two routes: route 1: from Calle 50, which will start from the ‘intelligent building’ to the old Bladex bank. Route 2, which will start from Plaza 5 de Mayo (Reina Torres de Araúz Museum) at Calle 30, on Avenida Balboa. In both tours, the Ministry of Education (Meduca) will have officials who will verify compliance with the standards described above.

On Route 1 of Calle 50, the presidential platform will be located in the Novey parking lots. Route 2, on Balboa Avenue, the platform will be established in the parking lots of the Cinta Costera, in front of East 27th Street.
