Mayor Jhonny Fernández arrived this Friday at the Pedro Vélez channel, located between radial 26 and the fourth ring, to inspect cleaning and maintenance work carried out in the drainage canals of the Santa Cruz capital.
The mayor, in a brief contact with the media, reported that first the emitters are being cleaned, which are the largest channels, and then they will work with the collectors, which are located in the middle of the first ones.
“We are supervising this work so that it is carried out in the best possible way. and thus the drainage channels fulfill their function without obstruction and the city does not fill with water. In the same way, we will continue in different parts of the city during the coming months,” said Fernández.
This maintenance action was replicated, in parallel, in the Chivato channel located on Mutualista avenue and fourth ring road. For the weekend, municipal personnel and machinery will move to DM 6, Pampa de la Isla area, to continue with maintenance work.
From the commune they added that the task is carried out permanently in the 15 districts from the capital of Santa Cruz.
On the other hand, a multidisciplinary team that depends on the Santa Cruz Municipal Cleaning Company (Emacruz) carried out maintenance work on a synthetic grass field, located in the Villa Brígida neighborhood, within DM 1.
The person in charge of the Solid Waste Management Department of Emacruz, Carlos Chávez, explained that For these works, 200 kilograms of granulated rubber were used. “We are working in a coordinated manner with the different units of the Municipal Government to meet the demands regarding sports in the Santa Cruz neighborhoods,” said Chavez.
He also explained that the tires that are collected by the private operator are sent to Normandy to be processed by the tire shredder and generate granulated rubber, which is now being used to improve the conditions of the synthetic grass fields.
For his part, the spokesman for the Sports Directorate, Lorgio Álvarez, indicated that maintenance work is beginning in this district and that the same it will be replicated in the 19 courts that the municipality has in its different districts. “We are working to have the fields in better conditions for the neighbors and that they can enjoy good football,” he said.
