After the collapse of an area of a house on Sunday, in the San Luis neighborhood of the Cristo Rey area, the Mayor’s Office of La Paz indicated that it obtained permission from the owners for the controlled demolition of three spaces in two houses in the sector to restore tranquility to the local residents.

“There are three environments that are directly affected. One registers a controlled demolition and one that had a loss of a room that unfortunately collapses on another part of the same house and a third in the back”, explained yesterday the municipal secretary of Comprehensive Risk Management (Smgir), Juan Pablo Palm.

He assured that the first collapse of an environment affected other surroundings. “The poor conduction of rainwater and poorly conducted sewage systems, and somewhat precarious old houses caused the failure of a retaining wall of an individual in the lower part and that caused the partial collapse of a room of a house”, said.

In the same building, another environment must be demolished for prevention. In addition, a space in the house next to the affected house suffered a collapse, which brings the affected rooms to three in two houses that must be intervened, said the director of Emergency Attention, Vladimir Vargas.
