Regarding the laboratories, the official remarked that “on July 19, the Government signed a price agreement with the pharmaceutical sector for 60 days. It established a maximum increase for medicines of up to 1 percentage point below the CPI of the previous month (June and July). So, in round numbers, between July and August, the increases could not exceed 11% accumulated”.
And he pointed out: “several laboratories increased the prices of medicines above the agreed threshold, thus failing to comply with what was signed with the president”, for which he gave them a period of 48 hours to “correct” the prices.
“For this reason, if this situation is not corrected in the next 48 hours, we are going to convene the laboratories to review their import plans and see what they do with the Argentine dollars,” said the secretary.
The president expressed that he hopes that businessmen take advantage of this measure, since, from their portfolio, they seek to implement a series of strategies to take care of prices and the pockets of Argentines.
