Thanks to the success obtained during the three editions of PreViaje, Matthias Lammens confirmed that there will be a fourth edition of the program that reimburses, in the form of credit, 50% of tourism expenses.
Tourism Minister explained that PreViaje 4 will be launched next year and will maintain similar characteristics until now established in the program. Likewise, Matthias Lammens He stressed that it will be possible to travel during the low season.
“We have it in next year’s budget. We are going to have an edition, in the same current sense, for the low season months. Probably for the first semester. I imagine it between April and May or June,” he said. Matthias Lammens.
The minister also stressed that, thanks to the success of the program, in the regional economies and in the tourism sector there is no longer talk of reactivation, but of growth, so it is likely that this will be a strategy that will be institutionalized.
“We need to generate a stable amount of employment and the Pre-Trip is a very valuable tool. It is a tool that must continue to strengthen and protect tourism.”
And he added: “Hopefully it will be a tool that remains. In addition, it is virtuous from many points of view, ”he indicated. At the time, he stressed that despite the fact that the Government makes a large investment, it easily recovers it.
“The State recovers $8.30 of every 10 pesos it invests, because they return in tax collection, in growth of economic activity and in job creation.”
The numbers left by the program
the minister projection: “In the first half of 2022, PreViaje generated more than 60,000 jobs, with a 16% growth in employment in the sector and a 45% year-on-year growth in activity”.
