This afternoon, the remains of the seven police officers killed in a terrorist ambush in the town of the Pichari district, in the jurisdiction of the Valley of the Apurimac Ene and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM) arrived in Huamanga, in Ayacucho.
The police officers were transferred to the VRAEM police front base, then they were taken to the Huamanga morgue. There they will perform the corresponding law necropsy.

These corpses will undergo examinations in order to determine the number of shots they received from the Senderistas that attacked them.
The bodies that arrived in Huamanga belong to:

It was reported that after the autopsy, the bodies will be taken to their cities of origin for the corresponding burial with the respective honors.

Massacre in the VRAEM
Last Saturday morning, minutes before 10:00 a.m., a police patrol made up mostly of members of the National Division of Special Operations (Dinoes), was allegedly attacked by subversive remnants in a remote area of Valle de los Ríos Apurímac, Ene and Mantaro (Vraem), leaving at least seven dead troops.
The event occurred in the vicinity of the Miriniri annex in the Natividad community, belonging to the Pichari district, La Convención province (Cusco), where the PNP vehicle with registration EPF-602, belonging to the Natividad Police Station, was returning to its base after to carry out reconnaissance work.
According to the first investigations, the attack would have been recorded from a high area, because the patrol car would have been hit with bursts of long-range weapons, causing the driver to lose control and overturn, immediately afterwards all the occupants were riddled with bullets.
