“The officers wanted to put me in the truck, but I told them no, that if they wanted they could go to my house, because I have nothing to hide. They told me they would check my bag. They asked me about my cell phone and I told them that I wasn’t around»; then they came to the house and searched it, leaving everything in disarray,” Escobar denounced.

She also pointed out that the officials of the Ortega dictatorship warned her not to go to mass because they could arrest her as they have done with dozens of opponents.

“I told them why I wasn’t going to go if it’s Easter, and we have the right to go, but the officer insisted that I don’t get into trouble, as if going to church is a crime,” she said annoyed.

Another of Yolanda González’s complaints was that the police claimed the fact that she takes photographs of the officer who maintains constant surveillance in her house. “The police told me that if the photo reaches the internet they would put me in jail.”

“In addition, they threatened a brother and sister of Darwin (Potosme), who they pointed out was organizing a supposed mass in honor of those killed in the Masaya protests, which they are unaware of (…) The riot police withdrew and threatened the family to imprison them “if they are disturbing the peace,” said the local media outlet.
