During an official act, President Mario Abdo Benítez, who is also campaigning to preside over the ANR, highlighted his “achievements” at the head of the Republic of Paraguay. In this sense, he highlighted again the road works as the routes and justified the high indebtedness of the country.
The boss stressed that the Tekopora and Senior Citizens program was doubled, but he did not say that extreme poverty and unemployment increased during his government.
On the other hand, he defended himself against questions about the current crisis. “Today our opponents try to manipulate people, (saying) ‘Marito is responsible for inflation,’ but there is inflationary pressure in the world. ‘Marito is responsible for the rise in fuel,’ but in the US and producing countries they had rises,” he alleged.
Regarding the pandemic, he said that “history will be written later, about the decisions we make and the pain we go through.” He also maintained that Paraguay had the least economic impact and the least unemployment in the region during the quarantine. “It was an honor to have guided the Paraguayan population in such a difficult moment in history,” he added.
