María de Lima proposes two more municipalities in the department of Colonia

The Decentralization Coordinator of the OPP (Office of Planning and Budget), María de Lima, who aspires to be a candidate for mayor for the department of Colonia, considers that Costa del Inmigrante (a seaside resort in the east of the department) and Barrio El General (Colonia del Sacramento) should have municipalities, as he said in dialogue with Radio del Oeste.

The Colonial nationalist expressed that “the creation of municipalities on the Immigrant Coast and in El General neighborhood should be an option. We are defenders of municipalization, we must do hard work with the residents of these places, I am not indifferent to the proposal of the residents who are already requesting to have municipalities, I believe that with joint work this is possible”.
He praised the benefits of the municipalities because they generate “progress and development for their community.”

In this way, with the creation of the municipalities of Conchillas and Cufré, and the new ones proposed, the department would have 15 local governments instead of 11 from the next five years.
