The group of peasants who came from Santa Cruz on a 29-day trek decided to take over the Ministry of Rural Development and Lands, They stationed themselves outside the building and did not allow the officers to leave.; the Government suspended the negotiations that were taking place with the presence of two deputy ministers.

“The authorities are inside the building., government He does not have the will to attend to us, we only speak with two deputy ministers and we are in the intermediate room. We peasants remain firm”, wrote one of the leaders who was able to communicate through messages and is within the Ministry.

The Deputy Minister of Rural Development, Ramiro Guerrero, had called a meeting of the leaders of the column that marched from July 4 in Pailón. The leaders accepted the call and attended the meeting; however, the bulk of the column that was waiting in the Vice Presidency, upon learning of the conflicts in Santa Cruz (in Guarayos they lifted the blockade by force) marched to the Ministry of Rural Developmentapproximately four blocks, and blocked all access.

This Ministry is located on Camacho Avenueroad considered neuralgic for being the heart of La Paz, closing this road causes vehicular chaos that affects the entire central axis of the city. The peasants blocked the avenue and warned that they would not let anyone out of the building.

But also, they demanded the meeting with President Arce and disqualified the participation of any other authority to negotiate. From within the Ministry, the leaders affirmed that tomorrow the blockade carried out in Santa Cruz will be extended to other regions.
