The president of Un Nuevo Tiempo and governor of Zulia, Manuel Rosales, asserted that dialogue is the “civilized, democratic alternative, where we all respect each other and can move forward.”
The governor of Zulia, Manuel Rosales advocates for negotiation between the opposition and the national government as a “civilized” and “democratic” alternative in the midst of the political controversy that broke out after the presidential elections on July 28.
In an exclusive interview with The Truth NewspaperAfter the inauguration of Expozulia, the also president and founder of the Un Nuevo Tiempo (UNT) party claimed to be a “balanced” politician, who before the last elections supported the idea of having “a prior agreement.”
«(I said) that we had to think first about Venezuela and then think about the aspirations or ambitions of people, sectors or groups. We already know what happened,” commented the regional leader.

He stressed that he remains united to the process carried out by the majority opposition, but insists on his position, being convinced that “the only way out” that the country has in the face of political conflict that, he indicated, is already 25 years old, is “through the negotiation”.
“No Army is going to come here to save us, no one is going to do an act of magic here to get us out of this process of conflict that we have experienced, we Venezuelans have to do that,” he asserted.
Rosales specified that, to do this, we must talk, negotiate and speak without “crushing” any of the parties, since “the other is going to defend itself.”
“The best thing is to understand that they neither crush me nor that I crush the other, but that we look for a civilized, democratic alternative, where we all respect each other and can move forward,” concluded the governor of Zulia on the subject.
Rosales on Ramírez Colina
Regarding the arrest of the mayor of Maracaibo, Rafael Ramírez Colina, which occurred on October 1, he recalled having already established a public position.
«We have said it publicly. We hope that justice is done and human rights and the rules and laws are respected for Rafael, the mayor of Maracaibo, and that everything ends satisfactorily,” he responded cautiously.
Manuel Rosales stressed that, despite all the political controversy, he does his job day after day. In addition, he recalled that he had to “remove Zulia from the ruins and rubble” after beginning his term as governor in 2021.
«I believe that the people are the ones who can give their opinion, and I will be where the people and the town decide. “That’s my job,” he said.
The highest authority in the region indicated that if there is something that stands out about Expozulia 2024 from those held in previous years, it is that there is “tremendous growth.” He explained that it is an exhibition space dedicated to the industrial and commercial sector and to small and large enterprises.
“All this within the reflection of creativity, a work structure and a regionalist design that has always inspired us to create a state of strength, work, tradition and constant growth in a well-combined and established development,” he explained.
