The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, received the commemorative march of the 16th Anniversary of the Bolivarian Militia In the Miraflores Palace, who highlighted the commitment and strength of this institution in the defense of the homeland, created with the objective of consolidating the Civic-Military Union for the defense of peace and sovereignty, in the face of the aggressions of fascist extremism and imperialism.
The Head of State granted military promotions to the degree and immediate hierarchy superior to the militiamen of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB). He also received a gift from a group of militiamen, within the framework of the military anniversary.
Maduro imposed the “Cruz de la Milicia Medal in her first class” to military and police officers highlighted in the Catatumbo lightning operation and received a gift from two militiamen in commemoration of the Military Civic Union.
Major General Orlando Romero Bolívar, commander of the Bolivarian militia, urged militiamen to continue strengthening their ranks and narrowing their ties with the Venezuelan people, pointing out that they represent the essential protagonists in the defense of the country.
