“This event demonstrates the institutional and professional strength of the Presidential Honor Guard and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence, which have known how to confront the multiple conspiracies of the imperialist enemy and its allies,” said the national president.

President Maduro expressed his admiration and pride for the work carried out by the Presidential Honor Guard and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence and stressed that “the Bolivarian National Armed Forces is increasingly stronger, cohesive, combative, united and determined to continue on the path of a 21st century full of glory for the Venezuelan Homeland”.

In his speech, he added that the FANB is the “backbone of peace, the defense of the Constitution, the Republic, the defense of our freedoms and rights as a people.”

The head of state commented before starting the act on his twitter account, that “the Venezuelan people feel great pride in the men and women who make up our glorious FANB, who are on the front line of combat, always cohesive, united and prepared to defend Venezuela in any circumstance. I thank you for your loyalty!”

This year, a total of 12,670 men and women members of the FANB are promoted to the next higher grade, which in the opinion of President Maduro “demonstrates the strength of our Venezuelan military institution.”
