The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, urged the next Government of Colombia to investigate the destabilizing and interventionist plans promoted during the administration of President Iván Duque.
«The next President who is elected by Colombians should review the plans of the Colombian Army and intelligence. There are specialized groups conspiring against Venezuela,” the Head of State denounced on Saturday in the radio program Diálogo Internacional, on La Radio del Sur.
In this sense, he stressed that President Iván Duque became an instrument of the United States to promote violence against Venezuela.
“Iván Duque has been the instrument of the US empire to exploit terrorism, drug trafficking, violence against Venezuela,” he denounced.
«Our fight to defend internal peace is brutal, all the terrorist plans, they wanted to blow us up this week pivotal refinery, plans to attack our relatives, us, criminal plans. Everything comes from Colombia », he warned.
Cooperation
On the other hand, he reiterated his willingness to cooperate with the new Government of Colombia, in order to resume diplomatic ties with the nation of New Granada, after more than three years of rupture.
On election day, which will take place on June 19, President Maduro stressed that the decision will be made by the Colombian people.
“The Colombian people will decide and we do not interfere in the internal affairs of Colombia, as we ask Colombia not to interfere in the internal affairs of Venezuela. It will be the people of Colombia who make their decision », he pointed out.
For this second electoral round, the binomial will be measured Gustavo Petro-Francia Marquez; of the Historical Pact party; and the binomial Rodolfo Hernández-Marelen Castillo, from the League of Anticorruption Leaders.
