The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed this Friday that the spirit of Commander Hugo Chávez has been present in every fight and victory obtained in the last 10 years.
This, after commemorating this Sunday 10 years of his pass to immortality, an event that occurred on March 5, 2013.
“Chávez, not for a second, has been absent from the struggles and battles that we have waged. Our Commander Chávez was not forgotten, he was not cast aside, he has not been absent, Commander Chávez with his image. With his thoughts, he has been and is present today more than ever, in every battle, in every fight, in every victory obtained over 10 years,” said the head of state during a working day with the Councils. The National President stated that, after the physical departure of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, the Venezuelan right and the United States government underestimated the patriotic forces.
“Imperialism underestimated us, the internal oligarchy underestimated us, they underestimated the people, they underestimated the leadership of the revolution, they underestimated me as a human being, leader and political boss. 10 years later we can tell you that here we are, whole, standing and victorious and ready to continue the battle in the remainder of the 21st century,” the Venezuelan president pointed out.
In this sense, he urged the working class to protect all the gains made since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution in 1999.
“We have to cultivate and take care of everything that we have created during all these years, the productive councils of workers was a wonderful creation of the revolution at the precise moment in which the sanctions were tightening,” he stressed.
In this regard, it rejected the extension of the executive order – promulgated for the first time in 2015 during the administration of Barack Obama -; which declares Venezuela an “unusual and extraordinary threat to the security of the nation of the United States.”
“Eight years since Barack Obama signed that decree in March 2015. Eight years of criminal sanctions, of aggressions, and with the united working class, Venezuela is defeating the sanctions, the blockade”, he concluded.
On the other hand, the governor of Apure, Eduardo Piñate, pointed out that, despite the sanctions, the working class has demonstrated and assumed the government’s management to promote the development of the country.
