In the last hours it was known about the death of Luis Orlando Pelayo Gonzalezwho was sentenced to 58 years in prison for the death of his son Luis Santiago, 11 months old, in Chía (Cundinamarca) in 2008.
His death would have occurred at the Rosario Pumarejo hospital in the city of Valleduparapparently, for health complications related to heart failure, diabetes and hypertension.

Pelayo González, 64, had been admitted to this care center after presenting health problems while he was deprived of liberty in the Maximum and Medium Security Penitentiary ‘La Tramacúa’ in the city of Valledupar.
It should be remembered that this case shocked Colombia because Luis Orlando appeared in various media with the minor’s mother asking the alleged people who had him to respect his life, and later accepted before the courts that he himself had murdered him and buried him in a remote area of the municipality of Chía.

According to information from the authorities, Luis Orlando had been transferred on March 26 of this year to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Federico Lleras Acosta Hospital in the city of Ibagué (Tolima).
