Luis Díaz was one step away from making history in the Champions League

louis diazLiverpool footballer, stood at the gates of being the first Colombian to be headline and win a Champions League final.

The one from Barrancas, a starter in Jürgen Klopp’s team, became this Saturday the eighth Colombian to play the match for the title in the Champions League, being the first to do so from the starting eleven.

Edwin Congo, with Real Madrid in 2000, Iván Cordoba, with Inter Milan in 2010, James Rodriguez, in 2016 and 2017 with Real Madrid, Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, with Juventus Turin in 2017, and Davinson Sánchez, in 2019 with Tottenham Hotspur, were the other Colombians to be in a Champions League final, although only Cuadrado reached dispute a minute.

Diaz also misses the opportunity to being the third Colombian to win this title, after Córdoba and James.
