Within the framework of the summit of finance ministers and central bankers of the G20, the Minister of Economy of the Nation, Luis Caputowill meet with the United States Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen.
The meeting, which will be attended by Luis Caputo representing Argentina, aims to discuss agreements of international interest and strengthen cooperation between both countries on economic and financial issues.
Yellen, in a previous press conference, said that the agreements she negotiates internationally are important for the success of the United States and the global economy.He also stressed that they have the support of the two largest parties in their country.
Caputo will take advantage of this opportunity to discuss issues such as investments, trade and financial cooperation. In addition to his meeting with Yellen, the Minister has a busy agenda during the G-20 summit.
He will also meet with other financial leaders, including Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) President Ilan Goldfajn, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and Treasury Undersecretary for International Affairs Jay Shambaugh.
These meetings seek to strengthen the relationship between Argentina and these international institutions. In the discussion panels, Caputo will participate in two crucial topics. The first will address the release of financing to achieve climate objectives and sustainable development.

It is worth noting that on the previous day, Luis Caputo met with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, in a constructive meeting.
The minister also held bilateral meetings with financial leaders from France and Italy. Friday’s meeting in the neighboring country is an important step for economic and financial cooperation between Argentina and the United States, and reflects the importance of the G-20 summit in Rio de Janeiro.
