Until the closing of this edition, and after attending the North Prison yesterday summoned by a federal control judge, the jurist Eduardo López Betancourt, president of the University Court of the UNAM, remained in hearing for the accusations presented against him by the Prosecutor’s Office General of the Republic (FGR).
Given the alleged commission of aggravated sexual harassment and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, Judge Gustavo Aquiles Villaseñor will define whether to link him to a trial or decree his freedom.
According to the records presented by the Special Prosecutor for Crimes of Violence against Women and Trafficking in Persons (Fevimtra), the accusations are about events dating from October 2019, when the teacher, upon meeting a law student, would have said a phrase of sexual harassment.
