LATAM plans to operate at 73% in May, compared to the pre-pandemic period

The group projects a passenger operation of up to 73% for May, compared to the same month of 2019. This would be the fourth month of a positive operational trend for the group, hand in hand with the reactivation of routes and the premiere of new destinations.

In addition, the company plans to operate approximately 1,115 daily national and international flights during May, connecting 133 destinations in 20 countries. Among the novelties of this month stands out the start of operations of the Brasilia-Sinop route, in the domestic market of Brazil. The cargo business, meanwhile, has scheduled 1,210 flights on cargo planes. All these projections are subject to the evolution of the pandemic in the countries where the group operates.

In April 2022, passenger traffic was 69.4% in relation to the same period in 2019, based on an operation measured in ASK (available seat kilometers) of 71.2% compared to April 2019. This implied that the factor of occupancy decreased 2.1 percentage points, reaching 81.2%.

In cargo, the load factor was 59.3%, which corresponds to an increase of 3.3 percentage points in relation to April 2019.

In the case of Peru, 68% of operations are projected compared to May 2019. In addition, a total of 41 destinations: 19 domestic (equivalent to 155 daily flights on average) and 22 international.

For Brazil, an estimated 78% of operations this month and 68 destinations in total: 50 domestic (equivalent to 532 daily flights on average) and 18 international.

Chile, for its part, has 62% of projected operations, compared to May 2019. Likewise, 15 domestic destinations (equivalent to 117 daily flights on average) and 22 international ones.

On the other hand, 114% of operations are projected in Colombia, as well as 22 destinations in general: 17 domestic (equivalent to 192 daily flights on average) and 5 international.

Finally, Ecuador has 41% of projected operations compared to May 2019; and 8 domestic destinations (equivalent to 40 daily flights on average) and 3 international ones.
