Given this, the leader of the Ccapacmarca community denied knowing the statement of the mining company, however, he considered that it would be a company strategy. “They must recognize their socio-environmental responsibility,” he told Peru21.

“The blockade began on January 27 and is followed by Sayhua, Huascabamba, Ccapacmarca and Tahuay. So far there is no statement from the State. No minister has communicated with us. We ask that the president come and consider us a zone of direct environmental and social influence. We are not going to lift the blockade because we have agreed that the blockade will be for the last time and we will not stop until we solve our problem. It doesn’t matter if it’s a month or two months, the blockade will continue. We hope for a good political decision and for the government to have a plan now. We hope they will set a date for the dialogue table”, he added.
