The President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou, would have officially requested the resignation of the Minister of Housing and Territorial Planning (MVOT), Irene Moreira, after the controversy that sparked this week by delivering a house in a questionable way.
Moreira delivered, directly and without following the lottery process, an MVOT house to a Cabildo Abierto militant, making use of a special “quota” that, according to her, she has for discretionary use as housing minister.
The resignation request did not happen the day before yesterday when Moreira was summoned to the Executive Tower to explain to Lacalle Pou and the Secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado, why she had made that controversial decision.
However, this Friday morning it transpired, in the voice of the journalist Ignacio Álvarez and the corroboration of media such as LARED21, Montevideo Portal and The country.
